This time yesterday I was still considering heading up to Scarborough for the swell that should be shaping up nicely there now. It was always going to be a mission... leaving home around midnight and driving the 8 or so hours through the night to avoid the traffic. I'd spent so much of the day trying to find a surfer to come along that wasn't on some overseas trip or working the next day that I forgot to check the news. So feeling a bit gutted that I had to call the trip off last minute due to lack of someone decent to shoot, I gave up and went to bed. It was a sweet feeling of relief when I turned on the news this morning and saw that most of my journey would have been under about 6 ft of flood water! I guess some things are just not meant to be.

The second stage of my year long photo exhibition went up the other day. I'm trying to update the photos every couple of months with fresh images from recent shoots and trips. So far the response has been pretty good so I'm chuffed. If you get a chance go and see it at Archie Brown's, Bread Street, Penzance, Cornwall.... they do nice cakes there too.

Well I finally got round to updating my website www.findyourwave.co.uk and adding a news section. As I'm having to hold back for longer and longer on putting new photos onto my site, so that the mags get to publish them before everyone sees them, I thought I'd set this up so that I could have a regular update of what I'm up to while it's still fresh, without giving too much away.

So what's new? Well since my trip to France to cover the Oxbow Longboarding Champs, which I've now uploaded the photos for on my site, I've shot a fairly lousy grom comp (the weather and waves let it down... the kids ripped) and I've done a 72 hour trip to Sennen for Wavelength mag. Funny thing is, Sennen is about 7 miles away so it wasn't too big a trip, but that's ok cos I'm not too keen on flying anyway. In the end it wasn't the best 72 hours of surf that Sennen has ever seen, but for at least 5 of those hours it was magic.
